Adding a photo from scanner

I used Adobe Photo Deluxe 3.0 to scan a photo and saved it to My Documents. When I attempted to add it to my gallery it would not except it. Needed to be say, JPEG, etc. Tried to save it as a JPEG but the only option I had was PDD (I think). Can anybody make any suggestions? Is there another place to save it? Tried Paint but the image took the whole page and I could'nt figure out how to reduce it? TIA, ennis

I don't know about your setup, but while scanning I'm asked what I want to save it as... At that point I instruct the scanner to save it as a JPEG....

Maybe you don't have that option?

Sounds like it prolly saved as a .pdf file - adobe acrobat. If you have another program you can scan into, that might help... does it give you other format choices other than PDF? When you go to save the document...there is a lil place at the bottom you can pull down that says file type and you'd wanna save it as a .jpeg or .jpg file isntead...

What you might have to do is go ahead and save it as normal, then after that go back to your *file* up in the left hand corner menu bar and pull down *save as*, and change the file on that screen instead by doing the same as I stated in the first paragraph....

Paint will only save it as a bitmap.

You may be able to save the picture on your desktop, then click once and hold down your mouse cursor as you drag the file INTO YOUR BROWSER that you use for the internet... after it opens there, you do as stated in paragraph one

Email me if you get lost..I'll help ya.

Photo deluxe is REALLY brain damaged. It only lets you save in two formats, and you need anothe Adobe product to save it as anything else. Doesn't even compress on disk, so you can end up with huge files.

You can download ACDSee for free, and if you don't want to pay after it expires, agree to look at the banner ads and you can keep using it.

For a $100, by Paint Shop Pro from JASC. Very easy to use. with tremoundous functionality.

First of all, when I select "Save as" a window pops up that says' "Adobe deluxe had a file access problem" w/ an "ok" button. When I select "ok" it goes away and the "Save window appears. I then select "My Documents" and I get two options in the "File type" area. They are versions for *.PDD or *PBD files. If I save it to either and then download to My Gallery it takes forever to get a meesage to check the file type. Unfortunately I cannot use my digital camera which would eliminate this problem. Beastrider, tell me more about this "ACDSee". TIA, ennis

fourhour,

Tip

Go to Filesearch.ru

Make sure you download the.exe and the patch for the evaluation copy protection. filesize=30 MByte

First try it out, if you are pleased with it go out and buy the software.

If this software doesn't work for you, delete it from your computer.

Thanks Beast and others for your help. As you can see, I was able to save the picture of my bike to .jpeg with the ACDSee that you mentioned. Again, Thanks ennis
