Dash knocking

If you remember, I started a thread a while back about a dash rattle. Well, it isnt a rattle, but more of a click/tap noise over bumps and its rather annoying.

I was told to stuff foam under there, where the defroster vent is, and it still does it.

Short of taking it to the dealer, what do you think I should do?

could be as simple as a loose wire hitting some plastic piece when you drive over bumps

Unhappy I have it too!

I have a rattle in my dash also. It's very spastic. Some days it'll rattle nonstop, somedays I won't hear it. I also took that oval on the dash off. My girlfriend drove my truck around while I pushed and pulled on stuff in there to see if I could find something loose. Nada, nothing. The only thing I can tell is that it is in the center of the dash somewhere, maybe behind stereo? When I push on the dash by the stereo it seems to help. Also, when I push on the top right corner of the instrument cluster it seems to help.

All I know is I WANT IT GONE!!! It is so annoying when it does rattle, and embarrasing.

The only thing I haven't tried is pulling the dash out and trying to find something loose. Anybody else have any suggestions?

Ive narrowed it down to, I believe the dash near the passneger side windshield area.

I stuck foam under the defroster vent, but I may need to put more in.

Ill check the stereo area.

Just crank that stereo up. That'll take care of any unwanted noises.
