Talking I did IT!!!!

Please say hello to a new member of the F150 owner fraternity. ME!!! .Just a few hours ago I bought my first truck. A 2001 5.4 supercab. Man, is it schweeet. Bright red sport. Cant wait to start with the mods. I got bit with the mod bug right after I bought my Audi A4, and after finding this place when I was researching my F150 purchase...I was ALL excited to see that the F150 was so..ummm...modable(is that even a word?). Anyway I just wanted to say hey...HEY!!.

Welcome friend...

You will find anything you could dream of here... answers to your technical problems, sites on the cheapest parts... hell, we'll even give you marrage counciling if need be... but that's another story. Yup... the bug only gets worse from here, so open that wallet wide, cause it never gets tired.

Welcome to the boards, my main, and hopefully we'll all be able to learn something about our trucks from you after you figure it out. I ask something every day almost, so count on me hitting you up for some knowledge one day!

Thumbs up

Congratulations on the new truck and welcome to our little slice of internet heaven.

We don't only talk about trucks, as you can probably tell. Lots of diverse people here and experts in various fields abound. Don't hesitate to participate. You will probably be teaching us a few things too.

If you want performance mods, just look for post by Neal "the freak." LOL. He gets upset when I say that... He's actually the "Horsepower Freak" and for good reason. Look for his interesting posts under the "Chips" section. Specifically, the messages about his kills.

BTW, is it a 4x2 or 4x4? Are there 4x4 Sports?

A little different than an Audi, but I'm sure you'll love the truck. And a perfect color choice (but I'm a bit biased towards bright red!)

Thanks ya'll

I appreciate the warm reception. I spent my first good bit of quality time with my new truck today and have some first impression observations that I'd like to pass by ya.

First, Im having a hell of a time finding a comfortable driving position. Damn steering wheel needs to telescope. I have the 60/40 split seats and they seem to be a bit narrow in the seat. The back is very comfotable, its just the lower seat side bolster annoys my left leg. I realize its going to just take some getting used to, VERY different than what I have been driving on a daily basis. Im not complaining mind you, except for the telescoping bit, just making observations.

Second....OMG....I thought I was crusing at around 55....looked down....75!!!! Very misleading...love it! hehe...

Welcome MarkTDavis;
Just wanted to drop in a get my hello's in also. The people on here are great. Believe me you can get any question you have awnsered on here. I've seen alot. Thumbs up on the Bright Red also, really looks sharp when the truck is all washed and waxed!
Really need to watch how you drive also, being in a truck really fools the brain while your driving. You might think your doing one speed while your actually are doing something faster!! I've had that happen to me before. LOL..

Good luck with her and drop in anytime day or night.

Yes... remember... Rice is the best food for a truck... gives it a great ego... '97 and I enjoy feasting on rice daily. Perhaps not as much as a Lightning owner, but we do eat our fair share. Get ready to race....

I know what you mean about thinking your doin 55 when your doin 75, led to my first ticket a month or so ago, wasnt my truck tho, I think I can drive with my eyes closed (no I have and will never try it) and just by the feel of the truck tell how fast i'm going.
