It's pretty easy to be an armchair quarterback and criticize. So what if Cheney were calling the shots. Great leaders surround themselves with great leaders. And Great leaders are open-minded, examine all the information and make decisions. If GWB's confidence is in Cheney, then certainly his advice will carry more weight.

Personally, I believe Colin Powell has as much to do with calling the shots as anyone.

Regardless as to who's is calling the shots, it has taken guts to take the stance the administration has and not just politcal guts.

Not sure that I even saw Clinton make an attempt to get Congress to support any activity (except those within the Oval Office)

I still think Bush Jr. is a puppet. He doesn't have the brains to make money with an oil company when other oil companies were making money hand over fist. I hope he continues to do what his advisors and his daddy tell him to do in regards to this war on terrorism because if he were to come up with an original thought and followed through with it, I'd be very afraid of the consequences.

If it weren't for his daddy, he'd still be struggling in Texas and his daughters would have been in jail by now.

He didn't become governor of Texas because he was a successful business man. He wasn't. He didn't become governor because he was smart. He isn't. He became governor because of the support from his daddy's political network and he raised the money to run for President, not on his talent, but on his father's back. Besides, who could say no to Momma Bush?

If his father wasn't VP and President of this country, does anybody believe he'd be in the White House now?

I dunno about that. How much is he worth?

I'm betting that there are several people on this board who are worth more than him (in more ways than the obvious).
