Talking A Bit of Trivia...

The Black Knight at the bridge scene was based on SCA style fighting. It turns out that Terry Gilliam was a Scadien in Califonia in the late 60's or early 70's and that's where he got the idea for the guy who gets his legs and arms chopped off.

(By the rules of our marshal arts combat, fencing or rattan, if you get hit in a limb you lose the use of that limb. Only a head or torso shot is a kill.)
