Yes but it really needs to be in the middle so the child can see. They don't like to be cooped up in behind that tall front seat.

It will fit. I've got a four-month old and I usually sit her in the
middle of the backseat. It's a little crowded because I have to
put the front seat all the way back since I'm so tall.

I've got two kids seats in back of mine. I've got the buckets up front, which I think gives the litle guy in the middle a bit more foot room. Have the dealer install tether anchors for you. They go in behind the seat back of the rear seat. No cost to install. My truck is the perfect family ride...the kids love to drive around in it. Best of luck with your new family member!!

I've got a 5 1/2 year old and a 19 month old. The older one is in a booster seat and the younger one is in his seat. They are on the outer seats so their stuff can be put between them. Neither one has a problem seeing out. In fact the younger one will let us know when he sees something he really likes. If you only have one, then the middle is the way to go. I got the 99 F150 for the 4th door. It makes a big difference getting everyone in when you can open up both sides of the truck. The other thing to do is get the seat you're going to use and take it to someone to show you how it should be buckled in. Around here the volunteer Fire Departments have a few people trained. The State Troopers are real good about showing people how to get them in right. Enjoy the quiet now and the baby when it gets here.

Congrats jdgarza,

Being a parent is one of the most rewarding experiences I have ever had...also one of the most stressful. No matter what you do, or how hard you try, you will have numerous arguements with your spouse over the child...like money wasn't a bad enough fight-starter
best of luck to all of you, and I wish you well.

But, it makes it all worth while when they look at you and say those 3 magic words......"buy me that"....what were you thinking?...."I love you"?....oh yeah, that too.

Arrow Anchors

Congrats on the new addition! I envy you parents. In preperation for our God willing event, I upgraded to the F250 CC. My question is: The tether anchors are on either the right and left side of the rear seat. Where should the little buggers go? In the middle as suggested or immediatly behind the drivers or passenger seat (in a safety context)?

In the meantime, while I wait for an answer, my wife and I will continue to ... errr ... hmm ... I'm at a loss for words here that wouldn't offend the sensabilities of this most politically correct forum.

Heh...oh, and Raoul, no comments...

Have you looked at the Supercrew? The x-cab is ok if you only have a single little-one. The car seat fits ok in the middle. I have two in car seats so the extra room is much appreciated. I know! I know! You say - I'm only having one... thats what I said, now I have three

Congratulations. Kids are a joy!

Just you guys wait

Baby seats? Just you wait until they start driving your truck like mine does! They'll be more concerned about RECLINING the seats than fitting a baby car seat in the rear! I have four boys, only the first one is driving now...good luck with the new additions!

P.S. --start saving now for their car insurance!!!

Fits just fine...

The other day I was going to take the our two and a half year old with me to do some running. The seat was in the car, so I headed for it rather than play "swap the seat".

She had other ideas. She headed for the truck. I told her the seat was in the car and she just insisted... "No, Daddy,....big truck!". I already knew she was smart, but I didn't know that she was already smart enough to appreciate the truck over the car.

Signmaster,

My Grandson does the same thing . . . he'd much rather ride in the truck (in his #3 carseat) than in his Grandmother's T-Bird. Of course he was just over a year old when he helped me pick out the truck (the horn sounded best to him)!

jdgara,

We put ours in the middle of the rear seat, it sets high enough that the little guy (2 yrs, 10 mons) put his feet on the center console.

I know you didn't ask but, be careful buying a seat! There is a lot of junk out there. We got the Dale Earnhart - #3 at WalMart, the other three we picked up at yard-sales! Like I said just watch what you buy. A good one will last through 2 or 3 kids so the yard-sale route is not a bad idea, especially when you see the prices for the good ones.

Other than that all I can say is get ready, your life is about to change - forever!

Bob

Thumbs up

I have a 2 year old daughter that sits in a forward facing car seat, either in the middle rear or behind me. My son (7 months old) sits in a rear facing seat behind my wife on the passengers side.

It helps that my wife is only 5'1", so her seat can go way up.

Also with the kids that close to you it is easy to reach back and hand them things (juice, treats or whatever it takes).

Plus I have a LCD screen that mounts to the overhead console, so my 2 year old can watch her kiddie tapes.

I am glad to see this post! I am expecting my first child on Feb 6th and was wondering the same thing. We were given a child seat by a friend, and I noticed it doesn't fit so well behind the seats, but in the middle of the rear it was better. Once we get the seat we WANT, we will probably discover the same result.

Good luck with your baby on the way JD!!
