Just picked up a 2018 STX with 17k miles, spent 1 hr in the truck trying to connect the ford pass app just to see what it was. Had problems connecting and called the help number and was told my truck does not have a modem to connect to the system. Wtf. Anyone have this issue? No modem? Shouldn’t that be standard? I have sync 3 system. Just sounds strange.

 

4G LTE modems were standard on the 2018 King Ranch, Lariat, and Platinum F150s. Optional (at time of order) on everything else (except XL - not offered). Keep in mind that the STX is pretty much a sporty version of an XL truck.

If you want internet connectivity for the truck you'll need to provide it yourself, either through your phone or external hotspot.
