Firefox users- beware

Just when you think it's safe to go in the water. Seems the geniuses at Firefox have programmed the browser to can/delete all of your extensions like Ad Block, Popup blocker, etc. There is no fix as of yet and no, you can't just reload them and no, a new copy of Firefox won't help either. Yer just screwed until the geniuses fix it on their end. So IF you have documents or apps that are sensitive, I'd use Explorer or Chrome until this is resolved. The last time they had an issue like this it took them a couple of months to figure it out. Hopefully, this won't be an issue by this time next week. I'd be backing up any important work that you're doing in Firefox too.

I WISH you had posted this just a bit earlier and I had read it before a friend in Australia just called me complaining that her ad blocker disappeared. I spent almost an hour with Teamviewer trying to get her extensions reinstalled before giving up. All of her extensions had been disabled.

However - I just opened my Firefox (I don't use it as my primary browser) and all my extensions are still there. I'm thinking if I started browsing with it they might disable?

I quit using Firefox when they forced out their CEO because he donated to Prop 15. All of them are sucking us for everything they can get.

Seems it's due to an expired security certificate. Shouldn't be long before that's fixed.

Here is a temporary fix:
  • about:config (type this in the address bar)
  • scroll to <xpinstall.signatures.required> and change it to false
  • no need to uninstall the extensions
  • restart firefox

The fix I posted only works on Linux, not Windows. Mozilla says that this issue will be fixed in the next few hours, no action will be required, they will re-enable themselves.

they will re-enable themselves.
And so they have. My extensions didn't work this morning but are working again this afternoon.

Here is the official hotfix:

Right click on this link and choose "save as":

https://storage.googleapis.com/moz-f...0.2-signed.xpi

Open the addons window in Firefox, drag this saved file into it. Restart Firefox and your extensions will all be working again.

Today's update to 66.0.4 has fixed the issue with no workaround required.
