Question Why is it that there different rear blinker lights for the 2001 F-150 XLT supercab

I know I want the F-150 XLT super cab, standard 4x2 V6. With a sun roof with the flair-side bed in silver.
So I have seen 3 different types of rear blinkers/reflectors and I was wanting to know how I go about getting the one I want . “ Witch package should I get or does it come standard?”
The ones I want are rounder and match withe the color of the truck they are sort of striped and for the lack of a better word are BUBBLED
Not like the long “right on the back types” these do rap around a little.
Does any one know what I mean? I have been to the Ford web sight and can’t really any info on this.
So If any one out there knows any thing PLEASE tell me
I Thank You one and all for any and all HELP. (:<0}

There is only one type of taillight for the flareside and it it the same as the supercrew. It may look different in the supercrew because the fender around it is styled differently. The one exception is the SVT Lightning version of the F-150 flareside or the "all-powerful and righteous L " as some here refer to it as. It has some different coloring of some sort.

You must be seeing standard beds which have a more upright lamp....and maybe even the superduty (f-25o,350, etc.)

If you are truely seeing body-color striping, then you are looking at a truck with aftermarket lens covers or bezels...or trim....whatever you want to call it. You can buy them anywhere in different styles and get them painted to match.

If your interested in getting the flair-side, there is only one set of tail lights available. These are the wrap around light s your interested in, but they dont have body colored stripes through them. That is an aftermarket addition that you paint to match and fasten to the lens. The lights that come with the flair-side are the same as the ones on the supercrew! The only other lights that are shaped similar but different, is the Altezza style lights found on the Lightning!

Thanks Anteater....I've always dreamed that my posts would someday be condensed and re-published in a Readers Digest version.

just kidding...I know you were probably writing while I was posting and editing my spelling or something.

FYI
If anyone is going to put the 2001 Lightning tail lights on your truck, make sure you get some shorter bolts, or some washers. If you don't you will screw through and distroy your new tail lights.
