Plenty good unless you are going to be towing really heavy and/or operating at high altitudes where you really need a diesel. It's almost as strong as the old V-10.

The F250 has a rougher ride than a F150 doesn't it? Some may object and others may not.

I have a bud that puts pads down for new oil rigs. He has a 28ft 5th wheel dual tandem trailer that he hauls a D5 Cat on. The Cat is probably 25,000lbs plus a few accessories and add the weight of the trailer which is probably close to 10,000 lbs. He has a 2016 with the 6.2 4x4. He comes from having Rams with the Cummins diesels and he likes the 6.2 a lot better. Claims the Cummins are slow by comparison. He's one of those kinda guys that will drive it every day like he stole it- loaded or not. It doesn't take him long to put 100,000 miles on one as he is all over Texas 24/7. Considering he still has it means it's one tough truck or he'd be in something else. He usually trades every year as the trucks will have way over 100,000 miles on the clock and he doesn't have time for downtime or break downs.

There are exceptions to every rule they say....5.4 3v are bad motors....haha says the owner of an all original 2004 5.4 3v with 289 thousand miles!

BUT, had I heard about all this before I bought her I wouldn't have bought her...

Glad your family is okay, that is obviously the most important fact, and if I had your history I would have to reconsider buying Ford again as well.

Be very very thankful the family is a-ok that is the most important thing out of all this thread. No one likes a big hit on the wallet, but having hurt or lost family is the priceless thing you can't replace

Not to burst your bliss bubble, but @180k you might be on borrowed time on the 4R75E as well. They're either hit or miss, good or bad. The bad ones usually go 75-100k and good ones go to around 200k

This is a major factor in why I originally wanted to walk away. That and my extended warranty was denying my claim for a new engine. After some haggling though they finally came through and paid for most of it so I basically got a new engine for about 1700. My dad has the same truck in a Rwd version with over 200k miles running strong. He's probably got one that is going to go the distance, mine will probably drop the transmission next as you say. But with new truck payments running 600-700 a month I can even replace that and have it paid for in under a year of what new truck payments would run.

I got a feeling the rear end will go before the transmission does. Another 1200 bucks.......

Dear ends are pretty solid, shouldn't give you any problems there unless you abuse it (burnouts, deep water/mud, etc)
