New Ford big block crate engine

Ford racing introduced a new crate engine at the PRI show in Indianapolis, it's based off the 460 and displaces a huge 572 cubic inches. It has forged internals and a scat crank with low compression pistons for a street friendly, pump gas ready 665 hp. No word on price.

I am guessing chevy has done good with their 572 so why not.

whats funny is that 572 is not crazy big anymore.

imagine a nice mid 70s, f150 two tone with all the factory trim, nice rims , big brakes and a ford 572 with fuel injection and an overdrive automatic.

Yeah, John Kasse racing engines offers an 820 ci based 460 engine. You can actually build a 557 in a good used stock 429/460 block, and it can reliably handle 800+ hp all day long. So 665 hp out of a 572 is pretty mild.

I would take the ford 572, throw in some 11:1 slugs a hotter solid roller cam and convert to EFI, then I would have a street-able 800+ hp big block. All motor, no juice and no hair dryers.

no thanks, been there done that have the t-shirt.

i like my automatics. on the drag strip or in a race they are faster.

price out a clutch and 5 or 6 speed that can handle the power of a 572, that does not kill you left leg.

personal taste, to each their own current own a 6 speed car and in Houston traffic....not so much fun.
