WTF! New FX4 ford package

While the F150 seems to get the rancho shocks, check out what the ranger gets:

http://www.off-road.com/fordracing/fx4/

That is a hot little package! 207hp with 4.10s stock! Where is that stuff in the F150s Ford? Plus the stock shifter there, that is nice looking! Where is the 4.10s and the lightning motor with a stick shift Ford?

The FX4 ORP in the F150 `s is really a joke!!!!!! All it is , is a name change plus putting color on the shocks. It`s the same ORP package under a new name!!!!!!!

Just wondering

Matt90GT

Is there anything that you did not mention in your Signature, no offense, I just saw jour signature for the first time (wow).

Won't be back to the States till 2004, so will worry about what the Srews are like when we get there.

Thumbs up

That looks like one sweet little truck there,,NICE! I believe I did hear that 4:10's will become an option on the 02 model F-150's. It's an exciting time to be a truck lover,,,,98

Well I know 1 reason why the FX4 Ranger got all the offroad goodies. I'm a member of a Ranger group and all these guys are super hardcore offroad. Most have 302s with straight axles under thier trucks. Most can't drive them on the road anymore. Well a while back Some Ford reps went and talked to some of the members and they told them what features they wanted on the new Rangers. Granted Ford didn't put everything on there they wanted, otherwise it would have a lift from the factory and a dana 44 straight axle up front. Recently they had a trail ride at Wellsville, OH and Ford brought out thier new FX4 and wheeled with them with it, even causing some pretty decent body damage to it in the process. I just kinda wish they had put some of the goodies on the Rangers on the F150s.

I remember those focus groups about 3-4 years ago when then started. I talked to a few of the engineers and product reps over email for about a month on some ideas. I did have a 94 ranger back then, but the family outgrew it. It was one of my favorite trucks I have had, beyond my 76 jeep pu!

Now if Ford would only listen to the F150 group! There are some of us that still want a stick shift in the truck!

This is what you get

The FX4 package includes 17" 5 spoke aluminum wheels, lower two tone paint, FX4 decal and tape stripe, Rancho heavy-duty shocks, skid plates, 3.55 gears, and stainless steel lug nuts.

Yea, I'm so impressed

The the Rancho Shocks in this so called new FX4 ORP on the 2002 trucks are just DRESSED-UP(Painted up) Ford OEM shocks .I know this ,I called & talked with a Tech from Rancho Today. He told they Are in fact the same shocks Ford has been using for years on the ORP Trucks!!!!!! This was a big disapointment!!!!!!!! I knew after I called Ford & got the price per shock he was telling the truth>>>$43.95 each.

I guess my gripe is where is the 4.10s? Where is the stick shift with 4.10s? how about BFG 285s with some MT Alcoas! How about a 5.4 stick, heck it is in the SD pickups. Where is the auburn LS in the rear axle?

All that would be easy to adapt. The ranger uses a 8.8, different spline but should be easy to adapt the rear locker there. Tires, piece of cake! Crank the bars from the factory and get some power under the hood!

I may be stretching here, but the new '02 dodges get 13" front brakes! yeah! That is the only appealing thing about them. FUGLY mothers!
