F150 FTX....that's no typo

Never heard of an F150 FTX before today. Looked at one though this morning. If you like a LOADED truck that will get attention, here's yer new F150.

I was impressed with the truck and it looked like it did everything but make potty stops for you. I dearly love the current 2014 Supercrew but this is really a neat truck.

Not a fan of the front bumper or door appliqués, otherwise a really nice looking package.

Also not a fan of those oversized twin hoodscoops. They make it look like a Dodge.

I don't like the lower treatment on the doors either. I'm with you on the looks of the 2014s Labnerd!

Like you Joe, the hoodscoops don't work for me.

Those have been around since my body generation. I see a decent amount. They're incredibly overpriced and on my generation they had gaudy rocker molding.

Labnerd, no offense to you, my friend, but that thing is ugly I've seen a few around before in person, and I always thought they look like someone went through the cheap accessories aisle at advance auto and slapped everything they could find on it. Reminds me of the Rocky Ridge or High Altitude Silverados. Not for me. But, I can certainly see the appeal if someone wants to buy a truck without having to do any modifications themselves.

For those of you wondering what happened to all of the Pontiac designers who became unemployed when GM axed their division, we now know where they landed. Pontiacs - especially the "high performance" ones - looked like they had every stick on piece of body cladding available from the latest JC Whitney catalog. Yup, that would be the FTX. Is there a screaming chicken on the hood by chance?

Yep -- from about the 1980's on, building a Pontiac consisted of starting with a Chevy and sticking every imaginable bit of plastic cladding on it to arrive at a Pontiac......

I agree. If those were gone and the mirrors and handles were paint to match, I like it.

I haven't seen one of those in a while. They are not a factory truck. I think it's Tuscany that takes a F150 and adds stuff to them and sells it for a crazy markup. Most of the ones I've seen look like the bastard child of a Ford and a JC Whitney catalog.

Yeah, it is a conversion by Tuscany and sold thru Ford dealers. The blue one I looked at was a sharp truck. He showed me a pic of a silver one they have coming and I was not impressed. List on the silver is a staggering $105,000.00. The blue one he has is not a cheap date either at $85,000.00. Looking at the actual value, you do get real hood scoops, the fender vent is real, and the inside was more plush than most luxury cars. The silver he has coming has a 5.0 max upgrade- 700HP with super charger. He has a Roush F150 coming too. I'll be looking at that one too. Not to buy, just to look. Unfortunately I really like the 2014 I have too much to even consider something else. Maybe the wife would like a truck instead of her Fusion?

Local Dealer had a few FTX F150 a year or so ago. They started out around 85k and 6 months later they still had em, last i saw the had dropped em down to 74k. The interior was VERY nice though
