Sweet Mid-70's GM.......!!!

A lovely example of a car that used to be every direction you looked when I was growing up:

My dad had one of those in a 4 door for a company car. Even the same color, same year.

That just looks like a boat to me. Not into that style. Love the later ones though.

As I remember my dad's drove like a boat. It was gutless even though it had a 350.

Built like a tank though - it saved his life. He totaled it and walked away.

My buddy had a yellow Cutlass that year.
He kept the hood ornament turned sideways.
I remember the first time I saw it like that I thought it was accidental so I spun it 90 degrees.
He said "no" and turned it back.

I was afraid to ask why, there couldn't be a good answer.
If he had said "'...for gas mileage' I would have hit him in the head with a brick.

I like the later ones as well. In fact, I pretty much like any American automobile over a certain age that has simply beaten the odds of being on it's 3rd or 4th owner who see's it as nothing more than "transportation" and proceeds to drive it into the ground! There's no good reason a car like this one should have survived all these years in such wonderful condition other than it was lucky enough to have been sold to an owner who loved it so much he kept it pristine -- and by doing so, gave an "automotive gift" to the next generation of car guys.....

When you see one of those out here in Calif. it either has a Blue hair old lady driving it or REAL skinny tires and REAL wide rims and a gang banger behind the wheel!
