Angry Greasing Ball joints

Ok HELP!!! We have a 99 F150, we've had it a longtime. My husband loves this truck, so much so we've put over $3K into the front end in the last 2 months... Now we're looking to have to replace the exact same parts we replaced only a few weeks ago and according to a mechanic he took it to its because Pep boys over greased the ball joints.....is that even possible? No one else has said that but we just went through this with the other side of the front end too, so we will have put two completely new front ends on this truck by the time were done. And I mean everything spindalls, bearings, ball joints, everything!

The only way I know of for "over greasing" to take out a ball joint is where the rubber boot gets really blown out by excess grease. This then leads to the possibility of contaminates getting into the ball and socket joint and wearing it out prematurely. Special note: This doesn't happen in just one week.

I'd suggest that at least some of the work you have had done was done incorrectly. And I struggle with how one would need to replace all of those front end components all at once. I'd find a better mechanic and have them look at the truck. Oh, and if cheap components were used as replacement parts, all bets are off.

BTW: You might get more action on this post if you have it moved to the 1997-2003 Sub-Forum.
