Flight & Data Recorers found at DC and now PA.

<Rant Mode On>

Folks,

I am glad these boxes were found, the voice recorder will give the FBI some insight into what happened at the time the takeover occurred and the data recorder will be of some help. Ok, here is where I am going with this, as a citizen I do not need or want to have access to this flights data or voice records. On the other hand if the recorders are found in PA. and they clearly show that the flight was high jacked and then taken back by the passengers. I want the transcripts printed in every paper, played on every TV and radio station and engraved in granite on a plaque as a memorial. I want the world to know, but more importantly and I consider this most important, we need every American to hear ordinary people doing this extraordinary thing. If what happened on that flight is what is being speculated then Americans will see that its not the sheep who change outcomes it is the Shepard’s. The men and women on that flight if true realized from phone calls that they were going to die and were not willing to die without first a fight to save innocent people on the ground and second a fight to save the plane and their fellow passengers. For some years now, there has been a concerted effort in this country to teach people and especially children to do what they are told without thought or question, to not risk themselves for the sake of others, to give up their freedom for the sake of false security. I believe people need to question anything we think is not right, evil thrives on silence. I could go on and on, I won’t.

Ed

Bravo!

I agree with you wholeheartedly! The time for apathy, for thinking that "someone else will do it" & for believeing that 1 person can't make a change is gone!
We've been ripped from our complacency - now we KNOW that yes, it CAN & it HAS happened here.
I admit - I can watch TV news reports of fighting going on in another country & I will feel horrible, say a prayer then go on with my life, "secure" in thinking that we're never going to have to experience that. I was wrong. We all were.
What the passengers did on that plane is an example of heroism that goes above & beyond the call of duty. It's an example of what a hero is truly about.
In the coming months we may be called to put ourselves on the line as well, to make sacrifices & to support each other in difficult times. I pray we will think of the heroes on that plane & don't fall back into our secure, comfortable way of thinking but instead, follow their example - to think of the welfare of others & the common good. Are we up to the task? I think we are. Besides, we have little choice now, do we?
God Bless & protect all of us - this is a hard lesson to learn & I for 1 will ever forget it. Or the heroes emerging from this tragedy.

They're saying the coc(k)pit voice recorder was too damaged to be of use. I hope they're all not like that.

Yeah, I think though, that the many cell phone calls, will tell the story.
I bet the hijackers hadn't counted on that.

I think I can totally see where you were going with that. Most people and children now days are taught differently then they were in the past. I am young myself but I grew up in an area that is very small and family oriented and still hold some of those family and old school values. Still there had to be some very very brave people on that plane and as they say "There angels among us" I hope in the near future there is more angels among us when we begin our battle. If the USA military was composed soley of people like the individuals on that plane it would take a very small Army to defeat the batards that caused such pain. My new prayers are that in this new battle that no more American lives are lost to such a stupid attack on us. Lets all hope that it is a small, quick, bloodless battle.
