BBQ'd Chevy





Boy do I love working on this thing!




Caught fire in my driveway, but she got water on it pretty quickly, now I GET to try to make it HAPPY again.

 

Good parents don't let their kids drive Chevies!

 

Yea, but the parts list is going to include a for sale sign!

 

Was it leaking fuel?

 

Yes but very minor. I couldn't find any signs and she could smell fumes every once in while.

The fuel rail has 2 inlets and one of them would leak if you did a wiggle test on it (quick disconnects) so I changed it. Smell came back a few days later........then I got the call "Dad my car just caught on fire".

After doing some research I found out that these Impalas with the 3800 motor are pretty scary. Look up Impala on you tube and include the word fire, explosion, or blows up..........Like a rock! Yea RIGHT!

It looks like +/-$400 parts at Rock Auto, I don't know how much the cuss word dictionary is going to cost, but I know I might run short on cuss words working on this thing!
