Factory Extended Warranty on a Used Car?

How does this work? Hypothetically say I was looking at a 2012 Ford with sub 20k on the odometer. Is the option to buy the extended 60k mile one? What cost would you be looking at?

Buyer usually get's the balance of the vehicles factory warranty...this includes the powertrain which should be up to 60K miles.

You get the factory 60k miles powertrain warranty, and they usually offer the chance to buy an extension up to 100k.

Ok good to know thank you guys. I'm considering a new 14-15 Mazda 6 touring but I absolutely love the 2012 fusion sport. I'd get a great sounding V6, cheaper and its loaded and looks killer. Around here 5-20k mikes for under 20k. It's a tempting route. I won't be ready until spring but it's a trade off. More power v getting a manual. Too bad I can't find a 4 door v6 manual. Everything is going to 4 cylinders. Hate it.

Yeah, that's been the trend for a while. Nearly impossible to, except in sports/muscle cars, get any kind of options along with a manual trans.

Parents just bought a '14 Mazda 3 for my younger siblings a month ago and they like it, for whatever that's worth. 2013 Fusions are just . . . Those 2012 Sports are really nice and the interiors/seats are cool.
