Who needs oil changes
That's really interesting, cause all the Toro stuff my family has had has been junk. Trimmer last like 3 months, replacement didn't do much better. Riding mower at the lake house, which got used maybe 10 times a year, was a little worse for wear and needed fixin after 3 years. Glad you've had better luck with 'em!

See, burning oil is a good thing, it changes it's own oil when we put new in

I wish we had non-ethanol gas around here.. They do sell some 'racing gas' at a 76 station, but it's $10/gallon and around 105 octane.

Fortunately, we have one station in the city that has non-ethanol, it's 91 octane and 60 cents more than 87.

I've never seen non-ethanol gas in my life, anywhere.

Okay, I've seen 100+ octanes at the track, but that doesn't count.

If you really want to find it, try a marina. Almost every marina around here carries it. The stuff with ethanol in it raised hell with boats when it came out because the average age of boats is much older than cars, so most marinas switched. At the marina I work at, non-ethanol 91 octane is all we offer.

If that's part of why marina gas is so flippin expensive, then I have seen a good bit of it. Never saw it advertised as non-ethanol though, and never seen it on the road for cars.

We always put 10% eth in the boat, but we didn't have a choice. I know my dad and I didn't care too much for putting it in there though.

It's only part of the reason its so expensive. The bigger contributing factors are the astronomical cost of lakefront property, environmental (storage and leakage) requirements, the fact that it sits for half a year and finally - "captive audience."

I live out in Vernon... not far from Rochester or the Finger Lakes...

I used to practically live in Rochester when I had friends going to RIT... lol Still go out there every once or twice a year, if not more... last year I think I was out in Rochester like 5 times.

FWIW, you can buy non-ethanol gas at any Home Depot or Lowes in 32 oz cans. It's formulated for use in small engines, not your truck. It doesn't carry any oxygenates like the gas for trucks/cars. More like the old timey gas yer grand father bought minus the lead. It ain't a cheap date though at 6 bucks for 32 oz but most often a self propelled mower doesn't use a lot either. Watch Home Depot as they have sales on it via website for almost half price in 6 can cases.
HD just had this on sale for 19 bucks on Saturday only sale

6 bucks for 32 oz is 24 bucks a gallon.........................

I get 91 octane ethanol-free for less than $4 a gallon.
