Looking at Buying an EX35 or EX37 Inifinity Crossover

As the title suggests, I'm planning to trade my wife's 05 Mitsubishi Outlander for a 2011 Infinity EX35 or a 2013 Infinity EX37. Does anyone have any experience or input on the reliability or other characteristics of these crossovers? Thanks

The EX35 has the 3.5L V6 and it has variable valve timing. When they increased the stroke that increased the displacement to 3.7L, they also added variable valve lift. Supposedly the manufacturer recommends using the Nissan oil that has a dose of ester in it to protect the valve mechanisms. That is what I'm most concerned about. After reading about issues with the 3V 5.4, it makes me think about the reliability of the complex valve control.

Okay, nobody warned me off, so we traded and got the "new" leftover 2013 Infinity EX37 Journey crossover yesterday. It's rear drive with independent rear suspension, nav, surround cameras, 325hp V6, 7 speed auto, Bose stereo with 11 speakers, bluetooth, pretty much loaded out. It's much more comfortable and relaxing to drive than the Outlander, but I still prefer my 05 Magnum with the Hemi.

Not sure if I'd like to have one or not... but a rwd cross over sounds appealing.

Wish they'd make more cross overs rear wheel drive...

Yeah, I know in the snow probably not fun since you really aren't going to load it up with bags of sand.

When I was looking, it seemed about half of them were AWD even the ones located in the south which according to the epa ratings decreased the highway mileage from 25 mpg to 24 mpg. The weight distribution is supposed to be 54%F/46%R. It has a "snow" button to push giving you optimum traction in the snow supposedly. Snow is a rarity where I live so I didn't want the AWD. My 05 Magnum is supposed to have 52/48 weight distribution and it gets great traction. We had some snow/ice this year and it did well.
