Smoked Taillights and Cops

Howdy,
I was thinking about smoking my taillights in a few weeks. I was going to use VHT Nightshsades and put one to two coats at most on them. My question is have any of you that have done this, had any problems with cops pulling you over?

I hope the cops impound your vehicle for doing this. Covering your brake lights has to be the dumbest "mod" in all of the car world. Those pretty red lights are there to warn people so they don't slam into your ***. Unless you like getting slammed the the ***...

Good one man. That's why I specifically stated one and at most two coats.... If you want to express your phony bs there's an Obama love page on twitter you can check.

100% illegal in Tx. You wont pass state inspection. Cops might or might not pull you over, its just like anything, speeding, tint, etc its use at your own risk.

not to mention its dangerous, and therefore illegal

I don't know how much validity there is to this, but my Uncle was recently pulled over here in TX for having blacked out LED tail lights. Being the person he is, he fought it and found a "loophole." Supposedly, as long as you have reflectors on them, they are legal. He was given 30 days to remove them. Instead, he bought two 2" x 2" reflectors and taped them on his tail lights. He went back to court to show his "repair" and the ticket was reversed. I haven't seen how the law is written to know that this is a real fix or not. But at least one judge saw it that way.

Thank you, I'm more than Likely not going to do it due to the laws. I was curious on people who did it and how the cops dealt with it. Appreciate the story and background. I have to look that stuff up.

Yeah, I was looking at that the other day and seemed pretty cool. I just don't want to break my taillight, but thanks for the suggestion.
