I took the Corvette factory and museum tour ONE WEEK TO THE DAY BEFORE THIS HAPPENED!!!

It's hard to believe I was walking around those cars just a few days prior to the entire floor collapsing! Little did I know what was under my feet.....

Here's a picture of me and my cronies the morning of the tour:

Never been a corvette fan, so didn't get too excited over this. Was 83 a body change year?

They have to remove them in a certain order just to get them out causing a minimum of further damage.

It was going to be, but production was postponed until '84.

Never heard about it until this sinkhole story, but from the articles some prototype '83s were made, and they were all scrapped except one. Apparently A GM employee kidnapped the survivor, and would not return it until GM promised not to crush it. Pretty cool story, IMO.

I've heard a few stories like that. I love knowing that all these ultra-rare, one of a kind, cars that aren't supposed to exist exist because someone stole them or said they destroyed it when they didn't.

Not big on Corvettes either, but I hope they get them back up and going. History is history regardless of make, model, color or horsepower. - Og
