Thanks for the additional links guys! I did find Labnerds post on it, as I'm now searching the different forums now!

I've been doing 5k mile oil changes for awhile now and don't really think that will change! Over the years, I've been going back to all MC parts and fluids for the 97 and plan to continue on the 13... Just have had the best results from the factory stuff and prefer to pay a few more bucks from the part's counter than getting some generic part for a few $$ less..

I've updated my sig and Garage and have started a new album for the 13! I still have this damn grin on my face and can't stop going out to the garage and just looking at the darn thing!!

Time for the Super Bowl now! Go Seahawks!

Most newer cars since 04 or there about have computer controlled starters. Just "bump" the ignition over to start position and release. The computer will continue to crank until its running.

Congrats on the new truck. Looks like me an Jbrew are the last of the 10th gen holdouts

The 99 Mercedes Ml320 does this. Guess the ol Germans were ahead of the game.

Congrat's on the new truck...with the Ecoboost and the 3.73's it ought to pull like a freight train. I would only trust a P rated tire up to 5-6K pound's towing so some LT's may be worth looking into later.

Thanks guys! I'm gonna have to ride out these OEM tires for awhile... I'm not too worried since they are 55 series tires, the profile is pretty low and they are still only a 32" tall tire.. I will bump up the pressure to the max #44 when I tow however.

Here are some pics if it in my driveway. Even the tonneau from the old F150 fit perfect! I have also gotten some of the Weathertech fitted mud flaps for it since these pics because the wide tires throw up all kinds of stuff on the fenders!

Thanks again!

Mitch

Hey brotha..:just saw this post but congrats. That's awesome! I also can't believe you parts with the old girl. I know you and I have spoke many times about towing and other stuff and I know she was a good one. Don't blame you though, I'd have a new one also if I could get out of mine. I've just got too much invested in mine to let it go for what I'd have to let it go for. It makes me sick to think that what the dealer offered me for my truck would make less than $10 a month difference in the new payment. That usually turns me away! Enjoy though...and don't look back. You made a good call and I'm sure the new girl will be as good as the '97. It'll be fun doing all the standard mods over again.

Wow I never thought you'd get rid of the '97! New one is pretty...congrats! Good luck with it.

Thanks Patman. I did see that and yes, that's a pretty cool feature!

Galaxy, yes it was hard to give up the 97, but it just seemed to be the right time.. Got a killer deal on the 13 (for me anyway..) and the trade only covered the sales tax, but after the first drive in the new truck, I was sold!

FordGuy, if there was any way I could have kept the 97, I would have.. The only way I could have done that was to park it on the street, and I just couldn't do that.. It's going straight to the auction yard, so I hope it finds/found a good home!

So far with 600 miles on it, I'm just overjoyed with the rig!. This last week was a good gauge of my weekly commute and it averaged 16 mpg and I only used 13 gallons of gas for 210 miles. The computer was bang on too, because it said I used 13 gallons of gas.. The old 97 would get at best 14 mpg on my commute and would have used a few gallons more of gas..

Can't wait to tow with it! I'm sure it'll handle my #5000 TT with ease!

Well, if I do decide to do that, it will be a heck of a lot easier with the 3.5 Eco..

The drivers side is more hidden, but I'm sure it'll still be easy!

The black thing in the back is a foam cover for the HPFP, it pulls right off. I found it easier to also disconnect the electrical lines running to it to reach that back plug. Otherwise you will only need an 8mm socket, spark plug socket, 6" extension, a ratchet and two beers to do the job. One for while you're working and one to celebrate when you finish. It was the easiest plug change I have ever done. If it takes you more than 30 minutes sell your tools on Craigslist. Plus the plugs are cheap, under $30 w/tax from the dealership.

The 2013s don't seen to have the problems with mis-gapped plugs like the 2011s did. I doubt you have a problem. A rough idle and shudder at light throttle seem to be the biggest symptoms.

Thanks Wookie, I figured as much! Once I saw the COPS on top of the covers, I was very happy! I did 2 plug changes on my 97 5.4 and it took me 4 hours and at least a six pack of beer and a lot of cussing each time!!
