SEMA 2013 in Las Vegas
Toyota Exhibit
A story behind these photos of a drivetrain at the Toyota exhibit. As you can see from the cut-away regions of the engine, this engine is a push-rod engine, as opposed to the overhead cam V-8 engines used by Toyota, and Lexus. When I asked the Toyota rep about this, she said this was the drivetrain used in their NASCAR cars, and NASCAR regulations did not allow overhead cams.
Well, I think I understand the reason for this regulation. Chevy doesn't have an overhead cam V-8 engine!! So, Ford, and Toyota get penalized for Chevy's "old technology"!!!!
