Ford getting back into marine engines

Ford and Indmar are getting together so Ford can get back into marine engines. They are going to use the 6.2L as abase for the new engine.
Supposedly they will create 3 different HP variants of the engine.

Interesting, what does a fully dressed 6.2 weigh? From what I remember the iron block 5.4 came in around 650# and the 6.2 is somewhat derived from it. Seems like they're aiming for the larger boat segment with the motor.

The modular V8's (5fours)weigh between 500-550 lbs for the complete assembly. The V10 is around 640 lbs and the Power strokes are between 900-1100 lbs. 5fours. Not sure for 6.2, I don't think it's that heavy.

It's going to be heavier than a 5.4 because it's a bigger block - wider bore spacings.

Our old 1999 Mastercraft Air Nautique had a 5.8 in it, never gave us any issues with the whopping 120 hours it had on it

That boat in the article kinda looks to me like a Malibu with Indmar decals. The boat and Raptor both look great though. I love inboards, so this is pretty good news to me!

you'd think that they'd flip the ball over so the front of the boat isn't sagging
