"Pawn Stars"
Wow that's a lot of folks lined up. It's a cool show and all and I enjoy watching it ever now & then but there's now way in hell I would line up like that just to enter a pawn shop.
I Really be leave half of the show is staged. IE the lady with the That Faberge spider selling it for like 15k and not knowing who that Russian was is a more then a little over the top.
On the flip side at least you don't have to pack a pistol into there shop like you would have to on hard core pawn.

All these shows are staged they recruit people from outside with cool stuff to make the show.
They also agree on price prior to filming. My cousin was on oddities for a stuffed (taxidermy) animal he had and said the guy was super nice but everything was totally fake haha they bartered on price prior to the show and just played it out for the filming.
But moral of the story is that he had his item listed somewhere online for sale and they saw it and said how would you like to be on the show? He did not get paid anything but hey he got free advertising and got to be on TV!

I always figured something like that. They couldn't even pay him $20 for his time. Oh well
Those people lined up must be unemployed or desperate for attention or drug money ? Something's not right well maybe that's over the top but man to wait in line for what?

He gained a lot more than $20 bucks for being on the show. He got a lot of advertising and also is looking to have them come back to a storefront for collectables that he has opened up since the filming.
Hardcore Pawn is fully scripted I'm sure .... I can't stand that show, I feel it makes me a little stupider if I watch it for more than a minute haha

I went in a couple of years ago on a trip to Vegas. I enjoy the show, and decided to take a quick look.
No line to get inside at that time. It was crowded, though. No sign of any of the stars, except for their faces on merchandise and a cardboard cutout you could pose with.
There was lots of overpriced merchandise related to the show, like Chumlee shirts and coffee mugs, etc...
The store had tons of other cool stuff for sale. It's kind of overwhelming the volume and variety of stuff, but it all seemed way overpriced to me.
I'm sure everything is more expensive in Vegas and I know their prices are negotiable. But still, I was amazed at the high asking prices. I guess many people will overpay for trinkets just so they can say they bought it at the Pawn Stars place.
