Question Ford's quality going down the drain?

Well first off I am a Ford guy, my whole family has been and all our Ford vehicles have been amazing vehicles! I have just been reading lately about all these quality problems with Ford/Lincoln...although thankfully none of these quality issues seem to be associated with Ford's trucks (Explorer, Focus, Edge, MKZ, etc seem to be the issues). The quality index on Ford has gone down the drain as well. What do you guys think?? Ford need to step their game up??

I hate seeing Chevy and GM at the top of the list!!!

I think if you do some checking, you will find it is not a problem with the actual "hardware", the vehicle itself, but more problems with "software". The controlling software that handles all the things done with a modern vehicle. That is where they need improvement. Things like Sync, etc.

Yup, the Sync system is literally the sole reason for their rankings in things like that. Seems stupid to me, considering that it's just the radio, voice controls, etc. and not the actual vehicle. I don't even find it that bad, and I mess with Sync all the time. It certainly shouldn't drop the entire vehicle's rating as much as it does.

If you remember, the escape was recalled before it even came out or something like that. Things have issues, it's just blown out of proportion.

I don't see any issues that are in excess to any other Brand on the road for the value received. As with any brand there are going to be issues based on specific models and years of productions. At least this is my view. I have owned Fords for 40+ years and in that time I have had good ones and some that I had some problems with but during that time I have had other brands as well in the family and day in and day out I still stick with the Fords. Just my view and my .02 cents worth, which admittedly is not worth as much as it was 40 years ago.

To add to what has been said, some of the mag reviewers are dumb as a box of hammers. They struggle to use Sync and MyFord Touch and write the entire product off because they want old school levers, ***** and buttons.

Agree 110% with this. That's why magazines shouldn't be used for info. Even Consumer Reports isn't good sometimes now, though I hear people talk about them having become sellouts, etc. all the time . . .

Consumer reports is worthless. They will give good ratings to Toyota and Honda without ever checking them out. Has been reported before.

No doubt at all. They have even admitted it in the past.

I know, but I am saying there is no doubt. They have admitted before and I am sure they are still doing it. Even with Honda and Toyota being the most recalled product.

I agree on the comments about Sync. I asked her did she want to go out and she responded, "I didn't understand you." I was crushed. I hate her. - Og
