f150 03 rear bumper question.
f150 03 rear bumper question.
I came here to see if you guys could help me out. I recently got into a small accident with a guy driving an 03 Supercrew. I offered to pay for everything and not get the insurance involved, I bought a bumper off craiglist without thinking there could be different sizes. So if you know if they are all the same and how to tell the difference I could greatly appreciate it.
For the rear there's a difference between the bumpers depending on the bed style (flairside vs styleside) iirc otherwise fitment is they bolt up to the same spots, maybe some visual differences though depending on the year though.
For the front you need a bumper from 00-03 otherwise it won't fit with the 03 grill shell, the 97-98 bumpers were different. The 00-03 bumpers dip down in the middle, while the 97-98 bumpers are flat across. Hard to explain, but if you google image it its easier to understand. Other differences would be visually, whether it has fog lights or not, painted to match, etc.
If you tell us what kind of bumper you bought we'll be able to help more.

Rear bumpers? The screw shares the same bumper as the flareside trucks. The flareside/screw bumper has 1" think pads on top of the bumper and looks more rounded.
The "styleside" standard bumper is more flat and has very thin bumper pads on top.
