I'm having a hard time helping him because he isn't answering my questions.

Easy way to answer the questions that I'm asking and you seem to be ignoring is to give me your service tag number. With that, I can get full specs from the Dell support site.

They might call the "Express Service Code" w/Dell. Depends, you probably have both, "Service Tag" and "Express Service Code", which can be two different numbers, but on the same bar code sticker. If I recall, the service tag has less numbers than the Express Code.

With Dell anyways.

I believe your service tag will be 7 alphanumerics.

That's right, - I have an 08 Inspiron w/Vista right here. I'll bring up the info over on another monitor, - makes it easy lol.

Says Service tag, - 3M85PF1

The ESF is 10 numeric.

Best Lap top I've ever had.

And I agree Jim, you need those programs. Windows gets so sluggish after a while. Really sucks.

That is in fact a 64 bit CPU, so the copy of Windows 7 you bought is compatible.

The diagnostics you need are SeaTools. You can download them from seagate.com.
