I heard of a site called "Oasis". Can anyone explain it to me and do you know if includes Canadian vehicles? Thanks.

 

OASIS what?.... there is a band called oasis, there is a software company called oasis, there is...well lots of oasises.....

any more clues?

 

"Oasis" is Ford's computer system where they track all repairs to vehichles by VIN, access TSBs, Warranty status etc.

oh....that OASIS.....I kinda doubt you can get at it...it is Ford proprietary I think...not even internet based if I remember rightly

 

It's short for Online Automotive (or is it Automobile??) Information System

It's the system Ford dealers use for tracking the service history on your vehicle. They can pull up recall and TSB info on it as well. They can also see what service you've had done at other dealers too... helpful if you move.

I always wondered why my dealer has a satellite dish on the roof. Is this part of the OASIS system?

 

I used oasis at a dlr to look up warranty history on the NEW TRUCK I JUST BOUGHT!!! 8-) Found only one repair, last may, a resistor was replaced. What is nice is it also pulls up where the work was done, the build date and the in-service date of the vehicle.

It's a private internet system only for ford dlrs, you cant access it on the public ford web site. I doubt they have a sattelite connection for it, probably just a dedicated phone line, maybe isdn, but I dont know.

The dealers do have a satellite hook-up also at least Courtesy Ford in Denver does, that is how they place their new orders with the factory. Don't know if it is tied inot OASIS or not.
