S&w m&p 15/22 moe

Picked up a black one on a whim cuz I can't afford to shoot my AR without feeling kind of whoozy after a day at the range and burning up $200-$300 throwing lead downrange.

Field strips just like the big boys and is practically the same rifle except the forward assist isn't there. And weighs lots less.

All controls are in the same place and if an accessory drops into an AR-15, it'll drop into a 15/22. That's why I bought it.

There are lots cheaper versions of AR's in .22LR, (Mossberg's 715-T comes to mind) but none were built on the AR platform like the S&W.

I put a Vortex StrikeFire red dot on it with the Vortex 3x flip away magnifier and was grouping 3" at 50 yards.

I bought 5 different kinds of reactive targets cuz shooting at paper gets old after you know your weapon is zeroed.

Even .22LR has increased in price like 400% in the last 2 years, and that's if you can find any.

EDIT: Forgot to say, it's a blast to shoot and seems to run really, really well. I've got 8 S&W 25rd magazines and have gone thru 1,000 rds, and have yet to have a FTF or FTE. 5-6 duds out of bulk packs.
