discovery channel
I watched part of it the other night but decided I was not going to support the show. I think it is very irresponsible of Discovery to promote this. I have seen too many cases where street racing leads to the death of innocent bystanders.
They showed the farm truck racing a camaro in daytime traffic. That is just stupid! One mistake and and who knows what happens.
The other thing that bothered me is the guy saying the worst that could happen is that you go to jail for manslaughter. Nevermind the fact that if you are in jail for manslaughter it means YOU KILLED SOMEONE!
I have no problems with fast or even super fast cars and I know occasionally you will get the urge to punch it or go fast on public roads but that is not the same as racing which belongs on a track.

I think it may be staged.. Keyword maybe. Just like a part if the show where they took off from the cops and it show the cop stopping right their in front of the camera just sitting there.. Racing in the traffic could've been all discovery channel vehicles driving along.. I just don't see how discovery an take the chance if its not staged
Saw the previews, but did not watch it.
Many of the 'reality' shows are staged, IMO. I think they like to recreate actual or imagined events.
The longer the show is on air, the more staged they get.
As long as it's good TV and no innocent civilians get hurt, I'm game.
Really enjoying Fast & Loud, for the most part. One of the better 'reality' shows.
Aaron and Richard make for good TV. Not so much some of their employees, like the new guy who rambled on this week endlessly before losing his train of thought. Uggh. IMO, that whole bit was staged, and weak.
Edit: Oh, and if you want to see a 'reality' show with fast cars on a track, check out 'Are You Faster Than a Redneck?'. It can be pretty cheezy, but they do have some cool cars.

I recorded it last night, I'll be watching it tonight! AB, while I agree with you to an extent, I think the show is benign when compared to all of the other crap on tv now. If you don't like this or its suggestiveness, I don't know how you tolerate a LOT of shows
Ok, so I just watched it. And . . . I think it's stupid, mostly. I absolutely love street racing daily drivers/ weekend cars on the highway. It's one of my top funnest things to do. But racing purpose built, drag only cars like that on the street is dumb. They race on the weekends, when most tracks are open. Ours is open for us every Friday night. Just race em there. The only real benefit to doing what they do is the rush you get from the risk.
And the idiot that puts racing before his home and his family, that doesn't need explaining.
However, what they're doing is much, much safer than highway racing. The only ones they're putting in danger are themselves and potentially others present. It seems that where they're racing, the only people present are those that choose to be there and are well aware of the inherent risks involved.
I'm not a risk taker, so I don't share their mindset. While I think racing cars of that type on the street is dumb, I don't see any real issues with it. The best place they used was the airport strip. Absolutely zero issues with that location
Lastly, I'd like to know what Flip died of. Hope it was non race-related. I actually like his pieced together ElCo

Doing stupid stunts like on Jackass or trying to catch hogs, make moonshine or build your own whatever......... for the most part if something goes wrong it is just that person in danger.
What this does is make street racing look easy/safe and while they may claim to be the most careful street racers out there some kid who just watched this will decide he is a better driver than Ken Block, Jimmy Johnson and John Force combined and then get out there and wipe some inocent person out when he looses control.
As far as what I "tolerate" that really does not matter and that is not my point. This is just irresponsible TV IMO. But you are correct, it is hard to find something watchable these days!
I will now get off the soapbox!
