Four people in Oklahoma survived being tossed over 100 yards in a pickup truck when they were hit head on by the largest tornado to ever touchdown in the United States.

pretty impressive that the truck held up as good as it did. To bad the 3 storm chasers that was killed wasnt in a better vehicle.. You wouldnt see me chasing tornados in a Chevy Cobalt..

The 3 storm chasers from Discovery were out there in a COBALT??????

Mike Bettes and his crew from the Weather Channel got hit too - in a Suburban. They got beat up pretty bad but they survived.

Yep.. 2009 Cobalt.

I figured they would have been in the 1 ton GMC..

In THAT tornado I wouldn't have even been out there in a TANK........

That truck seems to be in pretty darn good shape for that! Whole front clip is usable

It was crazy.. Read this morning that it threw the cobalt atleast a mile off the road.. On storm chaser that was sucked out of the car was a half mile to the east and the other a half mile to the west of where the found the car.. Tim samaras was found still buckled in the car

i still dont understand how you cant out run a tornado in a vehicle. im pretty dang sure i'd be haulin tail down any road, field, ditch, or whatever to get away from it.

At least on the roadways, I think it's because of traffic. And most vehicles can't handle most "alternatives" haha. I think yours could though!
