Anyone looking to retire to FL?

Here's the deal. I retired about a year ago, left FL and moved to CA. Now that I'm settled, I need to get my 87 yo Mom out here with me. All she needs to do is sell her house. It is in a 55+ park, one of the nicest I've seen and she pretty much has the best spot on the lake. Yes, small mouth and big mouth bass are in it. I once fed 3 people one afternoon with fried bass fillets. At night, the BIG bass come out to play. I never caught one, but they sound like a bowling ball got thrown into the water. The home itself is in great shape too, she just needs to move soon. It's in a small community about 10 miles from the gulf and 75 miles N of Tampa.
Help a guy out and check the link. Price is being dropped to $29,500 today.

Thanks for looking and any assistance. You can PM me for any questions or details.

IDK, do I justify this with a response? My better judgement dictates no, but wtf.
She is not happy there. The house is a burden to her at 87. She desires to be here and here with her only child in the Redwoods of N CA. She will save hundreds of dollars per month with her rent based on income here, free lunch and free transportation. If you have a better plan, I'd love to hear it.

how is she paying rent when she owns the place? How is FL more expensive to live than CA?

No real help here, I'd love to retire to Florida but it's too early. Enjoyed my short vacation there a couple years back immensely from the moment I got off the plane to the day I boarded the flight home.

Good luck with the sale though, I think some interior shots or a plan layout would go a long to way helping on an internet sale offer if you could manage that. Maybe they're in the link for info request but I didn't click that because I can't seriously consider it.

Hope it works out, sounds to me like you've got the right attitude. And I didn't figure it was any of my business about the whys or whatevers to begin with when I read this after you first posted it. In fact I just presumed it was pretty much what you stated and seemed very sensible and honorable.

Thanks far-trader & Need4racing. My mom owns the house outright but pays $400 spacerent. Hud in CA has a senior program that will rent you an apartment based (which is what she wants, downsizing) on your income. The Homeowners Association has exclusive marketing rights so you get what you get.

Thanks for looking and any help will be appreciated!

So how are you liking North Cali? I bet that is a huge change from Florida...I wish I could move there myself! Those mountains and snow would be a blast. Oh well, at least I'm in north florida.
