Gun Control.... 2.0
Gun Control.... 2.0
If you don't care about the preservation of our Constitution, more specifically , the 2nd amendment, no need to read any further.
If you are concerned about the preservation of our rights, granted to us by our creator, not the government, you might be interested in this video. It's and example of how ill informed many of our "lawmakers" are, and how educated many of our citizens are. Even ones only 15 years old.
It's only a few minutes, but this young person does a fine job of presenting the facts to a supposedly qualified legislature.

Unfortunately, coming from the state of Maryland, those words will fall on totally deaf ears. Even though Maryland already has tough gun laws, Baltimore is one of the most crime ridden cities in the country with well over 200 murders per year in a population of around 620,000. Chicago has about 500+ murders a year in a population of 2.7 million. If Baltimore had the population of Chicago, the number of murders would be real close to a 1,000, twice Chicago's rate.
But I guess that is okay with the libs in MD.
But I guess that is okay with the libs in MD.
In Maryland, hours on hours of logic-minded testimony fell on deaf ears. So many pro 2A folks came out to testify "against" vs "for" this ridiculous act by the legislators, yet they (the dems) just did what the Governor told them to. There was even one vote on an amendment that would punish those who use a gun to commit a crime. The dems didn't want it. The amendment passed on the first vote. The chairman called a recess and several reps were taken to a back room. Minutes later, the chairman called a re-vote. Surprisingly (not) this time the amendment failed. This is a blatant example of top down governance. Democracy and Liberty were finally euthanized in the Peoples Socialist Republic of Maryland yesterday. I followed the legislation and even attended the hearing at the State House of Reps. I can only say the whole thing is disgusting. Maryland's motto should be "tough on guns: easy on criminals."

I don't even like thinking about this anymore cause I get so worked up. I've done multiple papers and oral presentations on the subject recently, and even in Texas, it falls on deaf ears. The left-winged opinions of this country's youth concerns me greatly. It all comes down to what people want to see happen. They want less gun violence (who doesn't?), but they're just going about it the completely wrong way. And on top of that, all of the lies are being fed to the kids in the school systems from kindergarten all the way through college. If people don't logic with their children and tell them the real causes behind gun violence (and everything else wrong with this country), we're all going to be in a tight spot. For me, gun control legislation goes far behind the proposed laws themselves. It gives the government more control over our personal liberties. What's going to be next?
And that video and those comments show how unfit a lot of office holders truly are. And we let them run our government . . .

I'm with you kmac. I get so upset every time I get talking about this issue. The anti gun argument and the people making it are just wrong, plain and simple. They want to stop gun violence and the statistics that show what they are doing is the wrong way to go about it. Yet they push and push.
Did you read about the senator in colorado that said if we ban hi capacity magazines that once they're all shot they will be gone. Come on??? These are the ones that are making laws to change our constitution and they are ignorant on the subject. It sickens me to be honest.

Shame on the Maryland House of Delegates.
That turned my stomach. A blatant disregard for the process and for the rights of the people.
We are presently in transition from the former Constitutional protections we the people used to have, to whatever system is coming next. The chess pieces are being moved.

America is turning the Constitution and people's rights to bear arms into a money maker. If it ain't guns, it's gonna be something else (*cough cough* knives next...)
It's just a rat race.
One day, we will all wake up and we won't be able to take a crap without the gov't's knowledge, and if we try to hide it, they'll arrest you. It's a shame, but I can only blame it on the people that run this country and who voted on these shameless idiots.
My opinion on guns: If you are a dignified American, everyone should be allowed to own whatever type gun they want; be it a long gun, to a pistol, to an automatic... to even a .50 cal machine gun if they wanted it.
As long as you can prove you are responsible with it, then fine --- that's all there should be.
How can you prove you are responsible with it?! Very easily -- don't shoot or aim at no one that's not posing threat/harm to you.
I always go by this very simple, but very true motto: Guns don't kill people, people kill people.

Yes this is the state I live in unfortunately. Would be gone if I could afford it.
Here is another fine law the MD assembly just passed and will be signed on Monday. Nothing to do with gun control, but you will definitely get the idea of how this state is corrupt. Teachers are now going to be forced, whether they want to or not, whether they are a member or not to pay union dues.

Other laws passed this past year, instate tuition for illegal immigrants, and a redistricting plan that insures that of 5 of the counties/municipalities of the state will be electing all but one reps to the US Senate and House. Those counties are Montgomery, Anne Arundel, Prince Georges, Howard, and Baltimore City.

last night on 60 minutes, they had the parents of some ogf the people killed at the school.
I think that they should rebroadcast on all the major stations like the state of the union.
For people that have lost so much, their clarity was inspiring.
they did not want an asault weapons ban, they did support a 10 bullet magazine. they wanted parents and family to take on more responsibilty and for the mental health system to be looked at.
they seemed to asign blame on the guys family and anyone that knew that there was a problem, the gun safe was located in the guys room. they were not crazy made about guns ,but they thought all aspect of the case should be looked to try and attempt to prevent it from happening again.
that is how i saw it, maybe others saw it different.

"Parents and families to take on more responsibility" -110% agree! I do not believe in an "assault" weapons ban nor a magazine limit. I purchased a XD 45 and one of the major selling features was its capacity of 14 rounds including one in the chamber. I will not play silly their 10 round limit games if my family's safety is in jeopardy. The government is supposed to be limited by 2a to tell me differently.
