Talk about an un-wanted eventful Good Friday

I know that death is not on any specific time frame but can come at the most un-expected time. First, my grand-mother (dads mom) passed away yesterday afternoon around 3:00. She had been sick for a while but never knew the severity that she was that close to dying.

Then when I got home after work, my wife and I went out to dinner and decided to take our family Easter pics over to her parents/grandparents house when we got done to show them. As we were pulling into the lower entrance to their neighborhood we saw an ambulance enter the upper entrance with its lights on. we met at their driveway at the same time and there was already an ambulance there. My wifes mom and dad have lived across the street from his parents for many years which has been a good thing so they can stay over and help out. They ended up taking my wifes papaw (her dads dad) to the ER. He had been going downhill fast since colon cancer surgery in December. He passed away at 11:30 last night at 91 years old. My grandmother was about 71 or 72 and her birthday would have been Tuesday. My father-in-laws birthday was Wednesday and his dads birthday was last month. When my wifes grandmother passed away 4 years ago, she passed exactly a week after our youngest daughter was born and she never got to tell her good bye. This time my wife got a call from her cousin who works in the ER and said she needed to come up because it didnt look good and wasnt going to make it. She got to hold his hand when he took his last breath.

Please remember our family in your prayers. I never got to know my grandmother because of different circumstances. But my wife got to be around her papaw since she was 2 (its her step dad in case you are wondering, but the only dad she ever knew)

Thanks everyone

That's a lot to absorb in such a short time. Hope your family recovers and enjoys remembering the good times with your loved ones.

I lost my mom 2 weeks after my birthday last year... my birthday is in 5 days... really missing her and can't believe it's been a year already.

Sounds like some tough times for you and the misses... just hang in there and remember all the good times. Peace.
