Great pics, Takeda.

Love the motto in Photo 2. Quite a contrast from today's programming.

Just yesterday, I got done with some afternoon chores and turned the TV on. During a commercial break from the NCAA tournament, I surfed a few channels.

First channel - It's the Kardashians. One of the sisters got her ben-wa ***** stuck, 'up there' and enlisted her sister's aid. One ball popped out from under her skirt and rolled on the bathroom floor (all caught on camera), while the other remained stuck. Disgusted by the plot, I changed the channel.

Second channel - Joan Rivers was discussing how she had received a beaver coat as a gift. And it fit her beaver perfectly. Sensing a trend here, I changed the channel quickly.

Third channel - A TV comedy with a bunch of women sitting around, talking about the possibilities for using a turkey baster for more than just basting turkeys...

Three strikes in a row, in one minute or less. I turned the TV off and found some more chores to do.

That's why I no longer watch TV. The big bang theory I find hysterical. I just watch it on DVD. TV sucks big time now

Thanks! No, the house in #8 goes with the sign in #7. This is the house Andy grew up in.

Lot's of pressure on a sculptor when they're doing iconic figures like Andy and Opie who everyone grew up with and will recognize in an instant! I'm going to say the artist here did a pretty good job -- nailed Opie and got pretty dang close with Andy.....

I was back in Minnesota last summer and went to my first Twins game at Target Field. Around the stadium they have several bronzes of past Twins' greats (Harmon Killebrew, Rod Carew, etc.) -- most of them look great, but the one of Kirby Puckett I can only describe as looking as if he was coming back from the dead as a Zombie.....

Cool

My saviore (spell check) use to be TVLand. But even they have gone "Reality TV" too much. I liked Chasing Farrah (did you know she died the same time Michael Jackson did? I think even the same day.) I rarely watch TVLand now. My new favorites (here on Comcast) are ch# 248 - CoziTV, and ch# 249 - MeTv. They UN-Rock, if you know what I mean? Ch# 250-THIS TV in Philly isn't bad either, and ch# 252-ANTTV is a good one.

Not sure if he was always left or just got senile, ha ha.

Anyways, he represents an era when pop culture was not complete garbage. The sheriff wants to go fishing with his son, but his responsibilities require him to be on the job. He explains it to the son, and they fish later. There's a lesson or two in there. Damn, this country sure has changed a lot in the last 50 years.

Everything doesn't have to be 'left or right'... take the show for what it was -- an American classic that had some real life-lessons in there.

While I'm pretty far on the conservative end of the stick and don't care for the leftist push, I don't think this is an us versus them thread. We're rifted as a country far enough -- we don't have to bring it in to this thread. *whistles*
