Any forum members living near Sturgis renting out rooms week before/during and week after the rally week?

If you're going to stay there this time of year it should be affordable with the off season rates....

Usually the peak season is late May into late September

Too bad I'm on the other side of the state......but this is the service we use when we go out on the motorcycles...... http://www.vrbo.com/vacation-rentals...-hills/sturgis

Thanks for the link, 88
I should have been more specific. Going for the rally, Aug.5-11. Couldn't make and final commitments till now. I Checked online and called around. Talk about sticker-shock....
Unless i luck out somehow, I'll be shopping for a tent.

The Black Hills area in general has gotten very expensive over the last ten years or so. The wife and I used to go out every summer from the early eighties on but it has gotten way to expensive to stay in the area. I bet hotel rates are bumping $200.00 a night by now at peak season. Too rich for my blood.

Every place i called for rates, was between 250 and 300 per night during the rally week, in or very close to sturgis.
I am flexible, but not willing to bend over that far.
What i cant believe is, that so many people are paying those rates.
Guess I'm going tent shopping and pay 20/night for a hunk of grass at the hogheaven campground.
