While I use my Droid for play stuff I use it equally as much for business so I have access to my work e-mail and I'm also accessible 24/7. I run my life off the calendar on my phone we also have shared calendars through Google so everyone can see what our schedules are like for work and personal with only certain people having access to certain calendars. It makes things much easier for everyone for scheduling and keeping track of what everyone has going.

We do the same thing here with the calendars. We have 3 people scheduling stuff so we just created a Google account under the business name and share the one calendar.

BTW, do you know if you can buy the sticker that is in your sig? I would love to have a couple of those.

The calendar thing is nioce. We use an ap called Cozi. My wife and girls have access through their lap tops and I pods, and I have access through my Droid. Whenever some one has something going on they enter it and it updates everyone's calendar. I check it every afternoon before leaving work, to make sure I don't need to pick some one up from an after school activity.

I saw some crazy stuff where I worked at...machines carrying over 20k pound's of steel over someones head and they are on the phone and don't even realize what's going on...and these were laborer's talking on their free phones. Being one of the safety team leader's I chewed them out on a regular basis...even got to a point of restricting use to break's and lunch time use only. None of them liked that.
Tell me about it. We had a 4 hour meeting on New Years Day and talked about this "again". When working around power equipment and on scaffolding it is extremely dangerous being distracted by something that can wait. And Facebook? Oh man, I tried that for about 3 months and quit. Got tired of the play-by-play from everyone from the time they got up until they went to sleep. And i dont want to hear rants from anyone all day long. Makes me have a bad day. And i dont care that you went to Taco Bell for lunch and they cheated you .30 on your change. I just dont care. Anyone else with me on that one?! <end of rant>

Don't worry Shelby, when you're much older there will be new technologies that you will have trouble adapting to at first.

Cool

Hey, I resemble that. I never wanted any of this techno crap. But alas, in todays world you need to find a way to at least be in touch. I only updated my old computer because nothing was working on it anymore, got to the point were no updates helped. Hate cell phones. Absolutely hate them . Only got a standard flip phone when I bought the truck, because of this bluetooth thing, which I have no plans on replacing. Got a lap top because I need it when I go out to west virginia. I guess the basic stuff is OK. But all this facebook, myspace, yourspace, whos face is a bunch of busy bodys. Does nothing but fatten up todays youths. And speaking of todays youth, just because it may be available to you, doesn't mean that you are entitled to it. "Hail to the 13" black and white with the channel 2-13 and UHF dials"! and the Tena-rotor..... Ok, I feel better now................

No you don't. That is the mentality of 90% of people that have and don't need to carry mini computers. I think that smart phones make people dumber for not having to think as hard.

I'd like to know in any given day the percentage of phone call's or text messages that are really necessary. I carried a cell phone for year's that my work paid for...Nextel with the walkie-talkie built in. About all of the call's were business related but what a pain in the azz...glad to turn it in when I retired. I do some work part time for my daughter and the first thing she got me was another cell phone!
