Bought another Ford Today!

Well I got tired on my daily driver being a 20 year old Toyota Camry which gave me absolutely zero issues in 165K miles of service. Today I bought a mint 2011 Ford Crown Vic LX Black with 4.6 3v 36K miles from a nearby Ford Store. It has a light stone leather interior with lots of nice equipment. It drove like a dream on the test drive today. I should be picking her up Thursday! Its black & matches my 2008 HD F-150. Last of the Panther Platform V8 rear wheel drive with a real steel frame! I'm sure she will serve me well in the comming years! They will look great parked together with my black 2012 Harley FLHX! It was a good day!....

Nice upgrade, bet it rides a little nicer than the old Camry lol. I have an 04, same thing , sort of , Grand Marquis w/63,000 miles. Drives great, all I've had to do is tires and brakes so far.

So, how many old style FL820's are down to now?

Congrats

I still have two unopened cases in my closet with about 10 more stacked up on top! LOL At least I can use the same filters on the Vic's 4.6! On the downside I have a case of 1993 Camry V6 filters that I don't know what to do with! LOL....

That's good, I wasn't sure you could use them on that 4six. You could probably off those Camry filters on eBay if you had the ambition to go thru the trouble. Or sell them cheap to supplier in your area. They'll purchase them from you IF they can sell them. Been there done that a few times. Also, - you could remove all the rubber seals an chuck the rest. The rubber seals are good for keeping your electric tool cords wound up. If you even bother lol.

So are you going to put a push bar, fog lights, and a couple fake antennas on it to screw with people?

Sound like a very nice car and it should serve you well.

I didn't realize they still made the LX in 2011.....

I was always intrigued by those cars -- some real potential to make a cool cruiser out of them! The one drawback for me was always that I wished Ford had put a nice analog gauge package in the vehicle instead of the standard "grandma" gauge package that came in the regular CV......

And of course, no thread related to this vehicle would be complete without reminding you that you'll now be the "shiz-nit" with every 70-year-old woman in town.....

Very true. However, if that was his highest priority, he should have bought a '90's Lincoln Town Car.

Congrats on the new ride, RI! Just be careful driving past the bingo hall....

When we bought my wife's used 08 Taurus X I tried like HELL to get her into a Grand Marquis or Crown Vic. She said it looked like an old person's car! I said it's exactly what we need. She wasn't buying it no matter how much I tried.

Side note: Every time there's a missing person here in TX they announce it on those digital highway signs and nine times out of ten it's an elderly person driving a Grand Marquis or Crown Vic that is missing or lost!

My kids call it my old farts car. They won't even run it up to store if I end up parked behind them

But the truck, - well that's a entirely different story...
