Should I trade?
I currently have a 99' Super Cab ORP and have been looking at trading into a 01' I've looked at a SuperDuty, and a SuperCrew but have yet to really be interested in either due to 1. the SD really is more truck than I need, since I only use it for the occasional trip to the lumber yard, and most of my driving is commuting unloaded. 2. Personally I think that the proportions on the SuperCrew are not as appealing as the SuperCab. No offence to anyone. And I don’t haul anyone but my wife and self.
So if I trade would I really be gaining anything but mileage? My truck currently has 44,000. Is the door crack issue resolved for the 01' model year? Do the 01's have most of the "bugs" worked out? I.E. Slapping, Door cracks (mentioned above), Bad engine castings ( and or heads) , Transmission coast down clunk, Rear window leaking, Pinion seal leak, Door seam rust at bottom, Seat foam degradation. This may be a short list compared to what some others have experienced but so far this is what I have experienced with my current truck. Will I gain anything?? Or just start over with new problems? I don't plan on purchasing anything but another Ford truck and wouldn’t mind waiting until the new body style and engines but have always been leery of "New designs" in the engine and transmission department since I feel that not all the testing is ever complete before marketing forces a product to the marketplace. And from what I have seen in the Spy photo, I am less than impressed with the design. If that is what the 150 is to look like than it appears that Ford is looking for a "Corporate" Front and body design. Kind of what Old's did with their products. Anyway sorry for rambling and the long post but I am interested in everyone’s opinions.
Thanks,

Thanks,
Bob, sounds like you should wait a year.
1) your depreciation on your current truck will level out
(first 3 years are the worst)
2) you may like the new features of '03 and regret not waiting
3) you may hate the '03 and can steal an '02 leftover the dealers will be desperately trying to unload. The '02 may even be a better truck than the '03 but, that won't matter. The fact that it will look 'old' will hurt it's marketability on a new car lot.

I,m fond of the SCAB 150 myself. The box on the screw isn't that much smaller but I don't like the plastic sides. Unfortunately, I think all half tons will be that way in less than 5 years. Here's a twist you may want to consider. I think the new PSD V6 will be available on F150 in '03. That's what I'm waiting for. I do have some concerns about 1st model year engine though.
A friend of mine just bought a F350SD V10 SCREW long box. Very sweet, very long, very pricey. He sold it after 1 week. He claims ride was too stiff. Da! I offered to trade him my 150 for his 350 but he wasn't having any of it.
Don't worry about the minor issues on these trucks. There's always going to be something. Just buy what pleases you and you enjoy driving.

Why don't you just trade it in for a supercab like you have now you can get a good deal around this time of year since the 02's will be hitting the lots soon and you will gian having a new truck.
