Streaming NFL

We have gotten to the point of getting rid of our cable tv bill. With wifi in house and sigining up for netflix and possibly hulu or hulu plus, we have most things we are interested in covered. Will end up getting a Roku box for ease of use (remote) etc. Only thing I have not figured out is how to watch football. I am really only interested in watching the Eagles play. Is there a way that does not cost much if anything? I emailed nflrewind and can get games a day later (does not bother me), but I believe I would have to pay a package for all games.....I do not need that. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Jim

Even if you cut your cable, you ought to get an antenna so you can at least watch the local over-the-air stations. That's the old-fashioned way!

You may be able to find the games on TV stations websites that offer a live stream.

I think the NFL has blocked streaming for the most part. I think this has to do with them getting a cut from the sales of NFL ticket etc...

I'm a Bears fan and I might be able to catch one or two games a year on the local network. Most of the time it's those sorry Dallas cowhumpers who I despise. One of the only games I was able to find a good stream of last hear was the one played in London. There was a few places from the UK that had it up and I was able to see the game. To see the other games I really wanted to watch I just went to a bar that has the tv package. I'm friends with the bartender so it wasn't too bad.

If you're not willing to "pop" for Sunday Ticket on Direct TV, why not just go to a local sports bar and watch them play on Sunday? That's what I did before I got Direct TV, but I eventually figured that by the time I paid for a chicken finger basket and a few cold ones during the game every week, I could just put that money toward a Sunday Ticket subscription and call it good.

Plus, now I get to watch my two favorite teams every week from the comfort of my living room no matter what games are on the local channels -- the Minnesota Vikings AND WHOEVER'S PLAYING THE HATED GREEN BAY PACKERS!!!!!!!!

you can usually find a fan who streams there teams game. They usually pass word protect but if you belong to a pay fan bulliton board like I do some one is always streaming the games. The quality isnt very good and I only watch them that way as a last resort.

Thanks. I will have to wait to see if I start getting the itch. Looks like
Direct tv has a low rate of 29.99 for 2 years. We shall see. Thanks.

Ugh - I just checked for OTA where you are - and it doesn't look like you have any local network affiliates. Everything has to come in from Philly, and I doubt you could put up a big enough antenna to get good reception over the hill. Welcome to the age of cable and dish.

I am sort of in a bowl.....mountiany areas all around us. Blue Mountian ski resort off to the north west about 10 miles.....so maybe a dish. The wife really does not want a dish on the house....I might look into putting a dish on the travel trailer (one made for it), that way if we want to catch a show while camping we will have that option.....although we have not had a tv in our travel trailer at all. We go camping to spend outdoors not in front of a tv......so we shall see.
