Anyone here into bodybuilding?

I got disgusted of how I felt and looked... and had nothing else better to do than listen to a friend of mine who enjoys bodybuilding where I work. Well it changed me... and I found a new found passion!!

Now that I've been going since last November, I've went from being able to bench 110 lbs to 245 lbs (right now), and now I weigh in at around 130 lbs of pure muscle and I'm still gaining muscle, although not as rapidly as I initially was, but I'm still going up. Not to mention I've got a 6 pack, nice wide shoulders, and a crazy good looking chest according to some female friends.

The only things I've changed was my diet of course and I'm doing protein whey and casein. I use Optimum Gold Standard stuff. When I want a rush I sometimes use some C4 or Jack3d. But I only take that stuff when I want to do a hardcore workout. I do stacking like some extra BCAAs and L-Glut when I do my workouts in my post workout shake.

I go to the gym everyday, but I alternate different muscle groups, upper/lower body, and chest on certain days, and of course 3 days of 70 minute cardio (usually run around 10 miles on the treadmill).

So... Is anyone here a body builder?

I've lead the Bodybuilding lifestyle since the 90's! Did two natural competitions in 99 & 2000. Welcome to the lifestyle and all of the benefits with it!

I just started on Friday. NOT going for the freak look, just want to look a little intimidating, I already do but want the back-up look for myself.

I went about 2 months back with a friend, i was sore for over 2 weeks. I don't think i'll be going back any time soon, i also learned i can no longer run which sucks but the pain is not worth it.

Optimum is where it's at! Great stuff. I'm hoping to crank back into it hard, I got really lazy over Spring semester (3 jobs+school etc kind of took my time from the gym). I do Optimum and Creatine.

I workout everyday and feel like **** when i can get my workouts in. I got a bodybuilding.com account at mhockey9090 if you have one as well you can follow along with my workouts. I post them in the forum and on a blog as well. They also have this program you can upload what you did for your workouts and give you percentages and what not. Also lets you upload what you want for you lifting goals, body weight, Body part measurements and where you want to be, short term or long term goals. Its awesome check it out.

My Personal Records so far:

Bench Press: 290lbs and short term goal is 300lb.
Squat: 315 and short term is 350lb
Deadlift: 385lb and short term is 400lb
Leg Press: 640 and dont have a short term for this
Military Shoulder Press: 185lb and short term 200lb

I'm now one of those "use to be" guys. I use to be a bodybuilder. I competed in 24 competitions over a 7 year timeframe. Now I'm pushing 40, I'm just maintaining a healthy lifestyle. I'm the CFO for a chain of health clubs, so I have to keep after it. I still train hard, but I'm not into it and competing like a few years back. I've let my body shrink up from my heaviest "bulk up" weight of 240 and currently maintain a healthy 205 around 9-10% bodyfat. I do like to stay involved in bodybuilding and it feels good working with the younger guys getting them ready for their shows, putting together their routines & etc.

Train hard, train heavy or go home!
