No he didn't. He wasn't even in the acceleration box when he passed Stewart. He jumped the start and was penalized accordingly.
Stewart is the one who was cheated at the end when NECKCAR threw the caution for a plastic bottle. That's what Stewart gets from NECKCAR since he has spoken out against them in the media in the past.
And NECKCAR wonders why they can't fill the stands anymore. Jacques Debris cautions are part of the answer.

If there was a piece of metal in the groove, let's see a link to the video showing it. Otherwise, Stewart is correct in stating it was thrown due to a plastic bottle.
NECKCAR is notorious for throwing "Jacques Debris" cautions to produce side-by-side racing when the races get boring.
Not at all. I just watch the video. And the video shows Edwards accelerating before the acceleration box (lines painted on the track).

MRN radio reported there was a good size chunk of sheet metal in the groove on turn 3. Several spotters on twitter say the saw it getting picked up as well. FOX does a horrible job covering races so I wouldnt trust them for anything.
Carl Jumped the restart box by about 10+ feet. Maybe NASCAR could have warned him, but they decided to black flag him instead. He has nobody to blame but himself.

True. I didn't realize 99 had just pitted prior to that re-start...

So I guess you'd rather watch races on TNT with Kyle Petty and Wally Dallenbach?

I watched the restart again tonight. I paused it as soon as I could see Carl starting to go, he was about 3 car lengths from the start box. Just a tad to soon. I just don't understand how they, and NASCAR supposedly, thought 99 was the leader. You can't pit after the leader does, catch up to him under caution and somehow become the leader.
