my 11-87 Premeir fits me like a glove I feel so comfortable with it the weight and balance is perfect for me. My dad gave it to me so its not going anywhere besides going down to my son. My only concern I've found is when looking online the companies have so many different models. I know I want 12 gauge, with removable chokes.

I don't know what you have there in Arkansas, out here in Cali we have Turner's outdoor. They have a bunch of their guns on their web site (all the stores) so you can check them out. Cabela's or Bass Pro might have the same thing, so you can get an idea as to what's out there.

Also go to one of the big outlets and fondle the ones you think you might want. Once you pick a model, then start shopping price.

When my dad bought his 101 Winchester, he got it at a gun fair. There were 2 different Turner's stores there and one had the gun. It was scheduled to go to the other store if it didn't sell that day. So my dad played both the manager's egos against each other for the sale. Ended up getting about $300 off the original asking price.

So figure out what you want, then go out and work it!

One other thing to think about, if you are shooting duck/ geese think about 3" chamber. Also if it will handle steel shot, we can't shoot lead over water in the Peoples Republic of California!

Then you are well within the relm of the brownings and berettas in that price range.

When looking for fit of your weapon, pick it up in the store. Close your eyes, bring it up in your proper shooting stance and only then open your eyes and see where your eyes line up to your "sight picture". If you have to make anything more than a minor adjustment to get a good sight picture then you will most likely have accuracy issues as well as possible issues with felt recoil in your cheek. If your other shotgun fits you well, practice at home with this one first before hitting the stores and look for the same picture in your o/u.

As has been stated before fit and finish is much more important than brand name, but there is a reason some assembly line made weapons command a higher price than others and while name brand recognition is part of that quality of the products is a much bigger reason.

I shoot a Mossberg International O/U.

I think it was about $500 at the gun show.
