My wife drives a 2011 GT Premium. Off the lot it is one of the funnest cars I have ever driven and for the money can't be beat IMO (we paid about 34000). These really are great cars.

Her's is an automatic but we got a tune for it an now it is a different animal.

It's nice to be able to drive my truck all week and play with the mustang on the weekend if I want too!

A guy should be able to buy a Mustang coupe for under 25k and GT's should be close to 30.. I considered buying an 03 Mach I for a minute. Could have got it for under 25k new. Now GT's are nearly 40. To much..
as a stang fanatic, i agree. even though the new gt500 is gonna have 650hp!!, who can afford it? i would do good to even afford the 5.0! When i got my 06 GT, i ordered it fully loaded and paid $27k. And that was still on the downslope of all the initial hype of the new style.

one good thing, all these new stangs coming out with these high prices and high horsepower are slowly driving down the price of the Terminator Cobras . I know ive been keeping an eye on the prices....a LOT of modding potential with those too.

A guy I know bought a Challenger coupe last spring that you cant tell from looking at it it a V6 car. I was surprised when he told me he only paid 22 grand for it. I dont know if you can get any Mustang for that right now. Maybe but I doubt it.

I think you can get the V6 stang priced in the mid 20's. It's still a very good car.

It's not just the price on the Mustang it's the price on all vehicles that is going up.

A new Platinum Screw or a Raptor will run 50 grand. That seems unthinkable to me for a half ton pickup!

no, you cant. but sorry, that doesnt impress me with it being a dodge. they are always cheap. and for a reason. plus, 22 is also the seconds it will take that slow heavy underpowered beast to hit the traps in the 1/4 mile. look at their trucks, you can always buy a Ram for 3-4k less than an F150 or even a chevy. there is a reason for that too. it starts with cheap a$$ interior, and the list goes on and on. The one thing i will give the challenger, it does have some bada$$ retro styling going on.

even though the price sucks, i would pay another 3k above 22k in a heartbeat for a 2012 stang v6 with 305hp that would give my current GT a run for its money.

as cool as the Raptor is, i could never, ever justify the price that Ford wants for one. Of course i say the same thing about some of stang models that are sky high like the Boss 302 and GT500. While they are undeniably cool, I can make my GT hang with them for a fraction of the cost.

The 2013 GT-500's will have a 5.8 Liter Supercharged V8 with 650 HP. Top speed over 200 mph. It's the most powerful production V8. Ever.

That is precisely why I don't buy new anymore! This past summer I aquired a mint 2008 Harley SuperCrew & did not pay anything close what the original sticker was! Next on my list is a black 5.0 Mustang to match, as soon as my truck is payed off next year! I am so done buying new vehicles!......

True. SVT codenamed it "Trinity." Took them two years of R and D. Basically, they bored and stroked a 5.4 to 5.8, but that is just the tip of the ice burg as to what they have put into that engine. Muscle Mustangs and Fast Fords had a write up back in march on it. Broke it all down. Its a modern marvel of engineering at 650 hp / 600 tq that no other manufacturer is going to trump for some time.

Most powerful production v8 ever. Too bad ill never be able to afford one......

also, 5.8 happens to be 351ci. Rumors of a possible return of the Boss 351 are already spreading like wildfire. If it happens, will probably be race only though.
