Notice: OBX new restrictions for 4x4 beaches
Notice: OBX new restrictions for 4x4 beaches
I do not know all the information on this but what to warn you guys that whats to come down to the OBX beaches to drive on. Starting today, 2-15, All beaches south of Whalebone area down to Ocracoke require that you have an Off Road Vehicle Permit to get on the beach. They are restricting the people that want on the beach. The permit will cost you $50 dollars for a week or $120 for a calender year permit (no daily permits as of yet). It sucks that they have started this because even us locals need them even though we live here. Just a heads up if you guys what to go to Oregon Inlet or any other Southern Beaches at OBX. Now there is NOT one needed for 4x4 beaches in Corolla and Carova that is in Currituck County. If you want to get more information on this im sure if you search "NC beach restrictions" you will find it. If you have found any more information on this, post here for others to read up on. The local forces will be looking for these permits and will catch you if it is not there!
Edit: Here is the site describing what the restrictions are and limitations as well as cost.
