Unhappy Puppy sick

I know there are some dog lovers on here, and I need some support from them. The gf and I rescued a 2-3 year old female daschund from the street last year and gave her a good home, named her Bitsy.

Last night, my gf was concerned because Bitsy was bleeding from her behind, and just seemed to be in pain. Today, she called me and said the vet blames some Coumadin pills that she ingested, but Bitsy is too weak to have x-rays or surgery because of dehydration. So, the waiting game begins...they have her on an IV to rehydrate her, but they are worried because she lost so much blood.

Prayers, thoughts and well-wishes appreciated, guys. I'm away from my desktop but I'll post a pic of her here once I get home.

Hoping our little one pulls through

My Rat Terrier ate something she found on one of our walks that was probably laced with poison. She developed the squirts that was all blood, no telling how much she lost. I bundled her in a sheet and carried her to the vet. They put her on IV, and kept her over night. The vet said she was bleeding from the pancreas and if they could get it stopped, she would make it. I fully expected her to be gone the next day, but she made it, and in 2 or 3 days, was back to normal. I hope yours turns out just as good! They can survive a lot of stuff.

Sorry to hear about your dog.. Hope the vets can make her better.. My Pup had parvo a few years back... She was a goner but the wife and I made the decision to go all in and go with the expensive treatment.. One Vet told us that she would die even if he did the treatment... We snatched her up and took her somewhere else.... The next Vet gave my dog 24hr care and she had her own nurse to watch over her... She is alive and well today....

Hate to hear "Bitsy" is sick. Sure is easy to get attached to those critters. I hope all goes well.

Keep us posted.

Best of luck to Bitsy, I know how hard it is to be in your situation. I had a dog that got Lepto and had to be on fluids for over a week and my mother, who works as a veterinary technician, was watching her 24/7 so it was like having a private nurse for her but she pulled through and im sure Bitsy will too.

Thanks, folks. Bitsy is improving, but we could still use all the positive karma we can get. I'll keep y'all updated.

Thanks 88, and everyone. Went and checked on her this morning, she seemed to be in better spirits, though she is not out of the woods yet. We are staying positive

Great to hear Bitsy is doing better! I hope she continues to improve. Dogs are pretty tough little critters.
