Those two would be in my price range, hence my question.
The '90 is sentimental because it was my father's and it was my first vehicle so I'll never get rid of it. It has been a really good truck and is strictly a toy. The '03 also has been a great truck, just do the maintenance and it'll go for a long time. If you could find a clean 97-03 that may be your best option.

Is the 03 a 4.6 or 5.4, and what is your opinion of whatever it is?

It's the 5.4 and is a really good motor. I haven't any any major problems with it, did a tune up, cleaned the throttle body and that's about it. I don't really do any major towing but it has plenty of power.
