Any Xfinity users out there??
Any Xfinity users out there??
Currently Im using DishNetwork and Embarq for my internet and tv needs....and was looking into changing everything over to Xfinity since they just got in my area with digital cable.
Right now Im paying for 10 mbps with Embarq but Xfinity is offering 15mbps..Is anyone using there service??....are you happy with the 15mbps??...Im not much of a guru with this but I understand that cable internet is quicker and steady than DSL...
Also they cap there internet to 250g a month..anyone have an issue with this??

I am not an xfinity user. I have a different cable company. Until recently I had my internet only though them and my TV through dish. I was happy with dish but decide to take advantage of the cable company bundle for phone, tv and internet.
For TV, take a hard look at the channels you want and see how they are bundled. To get most of the better channels on dish you have to buy the top 200 package to get the 10-20 channels that you really want to watch. That leaves a lot of junk channels. My cable has better packages, less junk.
For me the downside of my cable service is the DVR. The dish DVR is light years ahead of this one. I have about half the hard drive space. The menus and customization suck. For instance, I cannot make a list in the guide of my favorite channels, so my guide displays all channels, even ones I don't get. The remote controller itself is not as intuitive as the dish remote.
10 MB versus 15 MB connection. You probably won't notice much of a difference. As you should have a pretty snappy connection now at 10. (If indeed you are getting the full 10 that you're paying for.) Downloads will be quicker of course, but not hugely so.
The 250gig limit is fine for most users. You should be able to cruise the net, download some songs, watch a few movies, play online games, etc. without going over. If you have a few teenagers at home that never come out of the basement, or are a heavy netflix user for example you could bump into it.
Even then, I hear it is sort of “soft” limit. That nothing will happen if you occasionally go over. But if you are a serial abuser that is dragging down the node they will cut you off.

I hated comcast when I had them. I'd have to beg to get a decent price on internet only because I don't want to do the bundle thing. I don't need internet & TV knocked out at once, with two suppliers it's either/or. Finally they just said no, full price for internet @ around 65+taxes, I quit and went to fios. Then they hounded me for months asking me to come back.
If they're the only non-dsl game in town then it is what it is. That's why I had them in the first place. But as soon as Verizon ran their lines I was ready to go.

I have the comcast/xfinity/whatever triple play now as it is cheaper when I just had the TV/internet deal. Only need to actually get a phone now since I haven't had a landline in the last 6 years. Not sure on the internet speed I have, but it is freakin' fast and loads forums and youtube with a quickness.

Thanx guys...been looking at there tv lineup and to get the channels I got now with Dish there wont be THAT much of a price difference What is killing me is to get the Speed Channel I have to get the most expensive bundle.....We are paying for 10 right now but in actuality Im getting about 7 with DSL....But if I understand correctly 15 with cable is pretty close to 15 so that will be double the speed...It moves quick enough right now but when if I download a 5g file and try to play xbox at the same time I can tell a difference......
